The European Trade Policy and Investment Support Project (EU-MUTRAP) has helped Viet Nam further integrate into the global and regional trading systems while promoting Viet Nam-EU trade and investment relations.
Vietnamese exporters can now get all the information they require about the European market at www.viet-export-win.com, which was launched in HCM City on Wednesday by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the EU-MUTRAP Project.
European consumers cannot recognise brand names of most goods imported from Viet Nam since many businesses are not fully aware of the importance of building trademarks and have not complied with EU standards for exports.
Vietnamese businesses must pay attention to non-tariff measures included
in free trade agreements to be able to grab opportunities for promoting
exports, experts said.
The granting of licences in the industry and trade has seen shortcomings
though several administrative procedures had been simplified, Le Hong
Lam, a representative from Viet Nam Bar Federation, said.
Green growth will open trade opportunities in all fields, including
agriculture, forestry, fisheries, industrial production, renewable
energy, and tourism, said Bui Huy Son, director of Viet Nam Trade
Promotion Centre.

yesterday provided information and technology (IT) equipment to
departments and units under three ministries and the National Office of
Intellectual Property.
Businesses and producers should provide comprehensive product
information to prevent the illegal trade in counterfeit goods, as it is
difficult to differentiate genuine from fake items.
The Kien Giang Province will work with other provinces and cities to
prevent and control illegal use of the geographical indication "Phu
Quoc" for fish sauce, the province''s Department of Science and
Technology has said.
Domestic producers should improve the quality of products and design at
reasonable prices to meet customers'' demands because this is considered
to be one solution to preventing smuggled.
The theme of increased market opportunities and stiffer challenges was
reiterated by many speakers yesterday at a workshop that dealt with the
European Union''s commercial policies relating to Free Trade Agreements.
